AUSTIN, TX (March 19, 2014) – Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) announced today the return of Corporate Battle of the Bands on Friday, May 9. The seventh annual battle, sponsored by H-E-B and Cirrus Logic, will feature corporate sponsors and their competing bands, made up of Austin’s most unlikely musicians including doctors and software engineers. This year will feature 8 bands made up of full-time employees who play music on the side, and each band will try to steal the spotlight in front of cheering friends, family, co-workers and live music fans.
The bands will play from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, with doors at 6:00pm, at ACL Live at 310 Willie Nelson Boulevard.
The corporate sponsors and their competing bands are:

A panel of celebrity judges that includes Austin-based musicians Patricia Vonne and Nakia, as well as Tito’s Handmade Vodka Founder Tito Beveridge, will name Best Cover Band, Best Original Band and Grand Prize Winner after the concert of folk rock, pop rock, ’60s rock ’n’ roll, alternative music and more. The grand prize is a day of recording at Bismeaux Studios and passes to ACL Music Festival. The live audience will decide Fan Favorite by filling the tip jar of their favorite band of the night, and the band with the most donations will win the title. All donations benefit HAAM.
A silent auction will also take place during the performances to raise funds for HAAM. The available auction items include:
- The Gibson Showroom Rock Star package: A night of fun at the Gibson Showroom
- featuring an intimate musical performance.
- A guitar autographed by performs from the ALL ATX concert including Christopher
- Cross, Eric Johnson and many more.
Tickets are $15, and will be available at the door and online at ACL Live. All profits from Corporate Battle of the Bands goes to HAAM and its mission to provide local musicians access to affordable medical, dental, mental, hearing and vision healthcare services with a focus on wellness and prevention.
Health Alliance for Austin Musicians provides access to affordable health care to Austin’s low income, uninsured working musicians with a focus on prevention and wellness. Since HAAM’s 2005 start, more than 3,000 of the city’s battalion of hard-working musicians have been served with access to regular, cost-effective healthcare services.
